Black History Month is only a week away. The Hawks Library staff decided to begin our celebration early by putting together the first of our displays to honor Black history. The focus on our primary display is 21st century history, focusing on the issues of social and racial justice. While society likes to think of history as something long ago, it is equally as important to take note of what is happening in the world today. We are all a part of history and it is the actions that we take in our collective lives that can dictate the course of future events.
The display consists of books that highlight current issues, organizations, and movements such as Black Lives Matter, antiracism, and more. Check out a book from this display, located on the lower floor of the library near the circulation desk.
